New Holland NH 4110 – EHR (Electro-Hydraulic Remote) Controller / Auxiliary Valve Controller: Remote No.1 Driver faulty

The electronic driver circuit (the output stage) responsible for actuating the spool in the #1 rear electro-hydraulic remote (EHR) valve has detected an electrical fault. This usually means the internal driver module on the valve itself has failed, though it can occasionally be triggered by a dead short or open circuit in the wiring harness supplying the valve.

   Inspect the electrical connector at Rear Remote Valve #1 for pushed-out pins, corrosion, or wire chafing. Verify that the valve is receiving proper supply voltage and ground.

   Perform a swap test: Disconnect the electrical harness from Remote #1 and swap it with an adjacent remote valve (e.g., Remote #2). If the fault code changes to the corresponding remote (e.g., NH 4124), the electronic driver inside the #1 valve is confirmed dead. If the code remains NH 4110, the issue lies in the tractor's wiring harness or main controller.

   Attempt to stroke the valve manually to ensure the spool is not mechanically jammed by debris, which can cause the driver to over-amp and throw a fault.

   Attempt an EHR valve calibration via the tractor's display monitor. If the driver is completely dead, calibration will fail immediately.

   Relieve pressure

   Relieve all hydraulic system pressure and turn off the tractor.

   Disconnect harness

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the faulty Rear Remote #1 valve section.

   Unbolt tie rods

   Unbolt the tie rods holding the rear remote valve stack together.

   Remove valve section

   Carefully slide out the faulty valve section, ensuring no dirt enters the hydraulic system. Replace the O-rings between the valve sections.

   Install new valve

   Install the new EHR valve section and torque the tie rods to OEM specifications.

   Reconnect harness

   Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Program valve

   New replacement valves are supplied from parts with no address assigned. You must use the tractor's display monitor or a CNH diagnostic tool to assign the correct address (Valve No. 1) to the new processor.

   Calibrate valve

   Perform the EHR valve calibration procedure through the tractor's monitor so the system can learn the new valve's spool travel limits.
