NH 4111

New Holland NH 4111 – Armrest Controller: Rear Remote No.1 Potentiometer Faulty

Issue description

The electronic control system is receiving an invalid signal, an out-of-range voltage, or no signal at all from the potentiometer responsible for monitoring the position or flow control of the #1 electro-hydraulic rear remote valve.

Applies to these machines

  • T6010
  • T6020
  • T6030
  • T6040
  • T6050
  • T6060
  • T6070
  • T7.220
  • T7.235
  • T7.250

  • TG245

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the remote valve #1 lever in the armrest and the Armrest Controller for damaged pins, corrosion, or loose connections.

  2. Perform a component swap test by swapping the electrical connection of the Remote No.1 lever/potentiometer with another working remote (such as Remote No.2). If the fault code changes to the corresponding remote (e.g., NH 4114/4115 for Remote No.2), the potentiometer itself is faulty. If the code remains NH 4111, the issue is likely in the wiring harness or the controller.

  3. Attempt to clear the fault code and perform a lever calibration through the tractor's A-post instrument display. If the potentiometer has failed, the calibration will not complete successfully.

Repair steps

  1. Power down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during service.

  2. Access the armrest

Remove the retaining screws and lift the cover of the armrest console to access the electro-hydraulic remote levers and flow control knobs.

  3. Disconnect the faulty potentiometer

Locate the potentiometer assembly for Remote No.1. Carefully unplug its electrical connector from the armrest harness.

  4. Remove the component

Remove the retaining nut (often a 3/8-32 nut) or mounting screws holding the potentiometer/lever assembly in place and extract the faulty unit.

  5. Install the new part

Insert the replacement potentiometer, secure it with the retaining hardware, and plug in the electrical connector.

  6. Reassemble

Reinstall the armrest console cover and reconnect the tractor's battery.

  7. Recalibrate

Power on the tractor. You must perform a lever calibration procedure through the A-post display so the controller can learn the sweep and neutral positions of the new potentiometer.

  8. Clear codes

Clear the NH 4111 fault code from the system and test the #1 rear remote for proper operation.
