New Holland NH 4118 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote) Controller or ATC (Armrest / Aux Valve Controller): Rear Remote No.2 - Under Voltage

The electronic feedback or supply voltage to the second rear electro-hydraulic remote (EHR) spool valve has dropped below the minimum acceptable threshold.

   Verify that the tractor's overall battery voltage and alternator output are within normal operating ranges, as general low voltage can trigger this code.

   Trace the wiring harness leading to the Rear Remote No.2 valve. Look for broken wires, chafing, or pinched lines.

   Disconnect the plug at the #2 remote valve. Inspect for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out pins, which commonly cause voltage drops.

   Use a multimeter to measure the supply and feedback voltage at the sensor/valve connector. If the voltage is below the required threshold (often < 0.25V for feedback sensors), the issue is in the wiring. If correct voltage is reaching the valve, the internal electronics are likely faulty.

   Repair wiring and connectors

   If diagnostic checks reveal damaged wiring or corroded connectors, clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner, replace damaged pins, or splice/repair the broken wire harness. Clear the code and test operation.

   Replace the EHR Valve

   If the wiring is intact and delivering proper voltage, the electronic spool valve (EHR valve) has an internal failure. Relieve hydraulic pressure, remove the hydraulic lines, unbolt the faulty #2 remote valve section from the valve stack, and install the new valve section.

   Calibrate the Spool

   After replacing the valve, perform a valve spool calibration using the tractor's display or a diagnostic tool. Failure to do so will result in a secondary code (e.g., 4217 'Rear Remote No.2 - Valve Spool Not Calibrated').
