New Holland NH 4124 – EHR (Electro-Hydraulic Remote) Control Module: Rear Remote No.2 - Driver faulty

The electronic driver circuit that controls the movement of the spool for the #2 rear electro-hydraulic remote valve has failed, or the controller detects an open/short circuit preventing it from driving the actuator.

   Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the #2 rear remote valve slice for corrosion, moisture ingress, or pushed-out pins.

   Perform a swap test by exchanging the electronic actuator head from Remote #2 with a known-good remote (like #1 or #3) to see if the fault follows the actuator or stays with the harness.

   Verify that the remote valve is receiving proper CAN communication, power, and ground from the tractor harness.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all implements, turn off the engine, and cycle the remote levers/switches to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the #2 rear remote valve actuator.

   Removal

   Remove the mounting screws (typically Allen/hex bolts) that secure the electronic actuator head to the mechanical hydraulic valve slice.

   Extraction

   Carefully pull the faulty actuator head straight back and off the valve body. Take note of how the mechanical linkage/pin engages with the hydraulic spool.

   Installation

   Install the new actuator head, ensuring the internal linkage properly engages the notch or pin on the valve spool.

   Secure

   Tighten the mounting screws to the manufacturer's specified torque.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical harness back into the new actuator.

   Calibration

   Perform an EHR valve calibration via the tractor's onboard diagnostic screen (e.g., H-Menu / H9 calibration) or by a dealer using the Electronic Service Tool (EST).
