   Cycle power and clear codes to see if the EEPROM checksum error is a hard failure or a temporary glitch caused by a voltage spike.

   Perform a swap test by swapping the electrical connections and/or the actuator head of the #4 remote valve with another working remote (such as #3 or #5).

   Verify fault movement: If the fault code changes to the new position (e.g., NH 4130 for Remote No.3), the valve actuator itself is internally failed. If the fault remains at No.4, there is an issue with the tractor's EHR controller or wiring harness.

   Check voltage to ensure the valve is receiving proper voltage, as undervoltage or overvoltage can sometimes corrupt memory reads.

   Depressurize the System

   Ensure the tractor is off and hydraulic pressure is relieved from the rear remotes.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the electrical harness connector from the #4 electro-hydraulic remote valve slice.

   Remove the Valve/Actuator

   Unbolt the faulty EHR valve slice or pilot head from the rear remote valve stack.

   Mount the new electro-hydraulic remote valve and torque the stack bolts to OEM specifications. Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Reprogram the Valve Number

   Use the tractor's diagnostic menu (e.g., the 'HJ' valve renumbering procedure or 'HK' menu on the U1 controller) to program the new processor so it identifies itself as Valve No. 4.

   Perform a hydraulic remote valve calibration to ensure the spool movement and neutral set points are learned by the main controller.
