New Holland NH 4152 – EHR (Electro-Hydraulic Remote): Rear Remote No.4 - Output Stage Faulty

There is an electrical failure in the output driver circuit that controls the spool movement for the 4th rear electro-hydraulic remote valve. The system has detected that the electrical signal or voltage required to actuate the valve's internal solenoid is either out of range, shorted, or the internal driver module on the valve itself has failed.

   Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector plugging into the #4 rear remote valve. Look for corrosion, pushed-out pins, moisture ingress, or wire chafing.

   Swap Test: Swap the electrical connector from the #4 remote valve with an adjacent, known-good remote valve (such as the #3 remote). If the fault code changes to the #3 remote, the issue is in the tractor's wiring harness or the EHR controller. If the fault code remains NH 4152 or the #4 valve still fails to operate, the fault is internal to the #4 remote valve's electronic driver/solenoid.

   Depressurize the System

   Turn the engine off but leave the key in the ON position. Cycle the remote valve controls to relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system. Lower any attached implements to the ground.

   Prep and Clean

   Disconnect the tractor's negative battery cable. Thoroughly clean the exterior of the rear remote valve stack to prevent dirt and debris from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty #4 remote valve section. Disconnect and cap the hydraulic lines/hoses routed to that specific valve.

   Remove the Valve Slice

   Remove the tie-bolts that hold the entire remote valve stack together. Carefully separate the stack and slide out the faulty #4 valve section.

   Install the New Valve

   Install the replacement valve section. Crucial: Ensure all O-rings between the valve slices are replaced with new ones and are properly seated to prevent internal leaks.

   Reassembly

   Reinstall the tie-bolts and torque them to the OEM specifications. Reconnect the hydraulic lines and the electrical connector.

   Calibration

   Reconnect the battery and start the tractor. Check for hydraulic leaks. You must perform the EHR calibration procedure via the tractor's instrument cluster or diagnostic service tool so the EHR controller can learn the spool travel limits of the new valve.
