Issue description
This code indicates that the control module is receiving a voltage signal from the Rear Remote No. 5 circuit (either the spool position transducer on the valve itself or the in-cab control lever) that exceeds the maximum expected threshold. This is typically caused by a short to a high-voltage source, a failed position transducer, or a faulty control lever potentiometer.

Check the cause
Harness Inspection: Visually inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the Rear Remote No.5 valve block at the rear of the tractor. Look for pinched wires, rubbed insulation, or moisture in the connector that could cause a short to power.
Sensor Feedback Voltage Check: Use a multimeter or a diagnostic tool (like the IntelliView monitor's diagnostic screen) to read the feedback voltage of Remote No.5. If it is pegged at a full 5V or 12V (depending on the reference circuit), there is a short.
Cab Control Check: Swap the electrical connection of the Remote No.5 cab lever with another remote lever (e.g., No.4) to see if the over-voltage fault follows the lever or stays with the valve circuit.
Calibration Check: Check if the EHR levers have lost calibration, which can sometimes throw erratic voltage codes.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during repair.
Clean and Inspect Connectors
Locate the Rear Remote No.5 valve on the rear hydraulic stack. Disconnect the wiring harness. Clean the pins with contact cleaner and check for pushed-back pins.
Repair Wiring
If the harness is damaged or shorted to a power wire, splice and repair the damaged section using weather-sealed connectors.
Replace the Faulty Component
If the diagnostic checks proved the in-cab lever is sending the over-voltage signal, remove the armrest console trim and replace the EHR control lever. Clear Codes
Clear the inactive 4161 fault code and test the hydraulic remote for proper operation.
