New Holland NH 4183 – DU Module (Display Unit) or RM (Remote Module) / EHR Controller: Timer Switch No.3 / No.4 not connected

Indicates an open circuit or a complete loss of communication between the tractor's control module and the timer/flow switch assembly located on the armrest or side console.

   Visually inspect the EHR lever panel on the armrest to ensure the timer switch for remotes No. 3 and No. 4 is physically intact and not stuck.

   Access the wiring beneath the EHR control panel and look for an unplugged connector, damaged pins, or a severed wire leading to the No. 3 / No. 4 timer switch.

   Enter the tractor's diagnostic mode and navigate to the H9 Menu (Switch & Sensor Test Functions) to monitor the voltage and state of the switches and verify if the module is receiving any signal when manually depressed.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery ground to prevent short circuits.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the trim panels on the armrest/side console to expose the underside of the EHR joystick and lever assemblies.

   Repair/Replace

   If the connector is simply unplugged, reconnect it securely. If the wiring is damaged (open circuit), repair the harness. If the switch itself has failed internally (no continuity when pressed), remove the retaining clips/screws and replace the EHR 3/4 Time/Flow Switch assembly.

   Reassembly & Power Up

   Reinstall the console trim and reconnect the battery. Turn the key to the ON position (do not start the engine).

   Recalibration

   Ensure all EHR timer switches are in the OFF position. Enter the calibration mode (the lower central display will show 'CAL'). Press and hold the program switch for the respective lever for at least 2 seconds until the display changes. Follow the on-screen prompts to capture the extend, retract, and neutral positions for the valves.

   Clear Codes

   Use the HC diagnostic menu to clear stored fault codes from the EEPROM. Hold down the 'm' / 'Decr' key until the display scrolls through 05, 04, 03, 02, 01 and beeps.
