Check the cause
Use the tractor's built-in diagnostic interface (H-Menu, often H9) to monitor the live state of the EHR No. 1 motor mode switch and see if the controller registers a change in state
Inspect the physical switch on the armrest console or Integrated Control Panel (ICP) for physical damage, sticking, or liquid intrusion
Disconnect the switch and test it with a multimeter for proper continuity across its positions
Check the wiring harness between the switch and the DU Module/Armrest controller for open circuits, chafing, or corroded connector pins
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the Switch
Carefully remove the retaining screws or pry the bezel on the armrest console/ICP to access the underside of the EHR control switches.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical connector specifically routed to the Rear EHR No. 1 Motor Mode switch.
Test/Replace
If your diagnostic continuity test proved the switch has failed internally, remove the retaining clips or mounting nut holding the switch in the console and extract the faulty switch.
Install
Insert the new OEM switch into the console and secure it.
Reconnect
Plug the wiring harness back into the switch, ensuring the connector clicks and locks into place.
Reassemble
Reinstall the armrest console panels and reconnect the battery.
Clear Codes & Calibrate
Turn the key on. Use the tractor's diagnostic menu or a CAN-bus diagnostic tool to clear the NH 4194 fault code. Test the operation of Rear Remote No. 1 in motor mode to verify the repair.
