New Holland NH 7015 – PTO / Driveline Controller: Difflock Solenoid Stuck off
Issue description
This fault code indicates that the differential lock solenoid is failing to engage when commanded by the system. The controller detects that the circuit is stuck in the "off" state. This is typically caused by a defective solenoid coil (internal failure), a damaged wiring harness, or a poor electrical connection.

Check the cause
Test the resistance of the difflock solenoid circuit at the PTO/Driveline controller connector (e.g., connector C057, pin 9). Disconnect the connector, clean the pins, and test continuity between the solenoid pin and chassis ground. A healthy solenoid coil should read approximately 8.5 to 9.7 ohms.
Inspect the wiring harness from the controller to the rear differential lock solenoid for visible chafing, breaks, or short circuits.
Perform a solenoid swap test by swapping the difflock solenoid coil with the adjacent FWD or modulation solenoid. If the fault code changes, the coil is defective. If NH 7015 remains, the issue is in the wiring harness or controller.
Repair steps
Park the tractor
Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and engage the parking brake.
Locate the differential lock control valve
Locate the differential lock control valve. It is typically located at the rear of the tractor, under the cab platform on the right side of the control valve block.
Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector
Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the defective difflock solenoid.
Remove the retaining nut or fastener
Remove the retaining nut or fastener securing the solenoid coil to the hydraulic valve stem.
Slide the old solenoid coil off
Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve cartridge.
Clean the valve stem
Clean the valve stem to ensure it is free of dirt and debris.
Install the new replacement solenoid coil
Slide the new replacement solenoid coil onto the stem and secure it with the retaining nut.
Reconnect the electrical harness connector
Reconnect the electrical harness connector.
Test the differential lock engagement
Turn on the tractor's ignition, clear the stored fault codes using a diagnostic tool or the onboard display, and test the differential lock engagement to verify the repair.
