This code indicates a fault in the electrical circuit for the Front Power Take-Off (PTO) engagement switch located in the tractor's cab. Specifically, the controller is monitoring the Normally Closed (N/C) contacts of the switch. An "open circuit" means the control module is not receiving the expected electrical continuity through the N/C circuit when the switch is in its resting (disengaged) state. This is typically caused by a disconnected plug, a broken wire in the harness, or an internal failure of the switch contacts.

   Visual Inspection: Access the Front PTO switch on the cab console or armrest. Inspect the wiring harness connector at the back of the switch for loose, backed-out, or heavily corroded pins.

   Switch Continuity Test: Disconnect the switch. Using a Digital Multimeter (DMM), test the continuity across the Normally Closed (N/C) pins of the switch while it is in the resting (OFF) position. If there is no continuity (infinite resistance), the switch has failed internally.

   Harness Check: If the switch tests good, check the wiring harness for continuity between the switch connector and the cab controller/armrest module. Look for pinched wires or chafing inside the console.

   Preparation

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery ground cable to prevent short circuits.

   Carefully pry the Front PTO switch out of the side console or armrest panel using a non-marring plastic trim tool.
