New Holland R-PTO 5019 – CCH (Central Controller Hub): PTO is configured as a two speed and no shaft size frequency was detected when the PTO was switched on. (CCH Only)

The tractor's software is configured for a two-speed Power Take-Off (PTO) system. In a two-speed system, the controller relies on a 'Shaft Size Sensor' (a variable reluctance sensor) to detect which PTO shaft is installed and monitor its rotational frequency. When the PTO is engaged, the controller expects a frequency signal from this sensor. If it receives no signal, it logs fault code 5019 and may disable the PTO speed display or PTO function.

   Verify PTO Configuration: Ensure the tractor is actually equipped with a two-speed PTO. Incorrect software configuration on a single-speed PTO will cause the controller to look for a non-existent sensor.

   Check for Swapped Connectors: Verify that the wiring connectors for the PTO Shaft Speed Sensor (top of transmission) and the PTO Shaft Size Sensor (at the PTO shaft) have not been accidentally swapped.

   Inspect Wiring and Connections: Check the electrical connector at the PTO shaft size sensor for dirt, moisture, or pushed-back pins. Trace the wiring harness back to the CCH to check for chafing, open circuits, or shorts to ground.

   Test the Sensor: Use a multimeter set to AC volts while the shaft is turning to verify if the variable reluctance sensor generates a frequency signal.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and locate the PTO shaft size sensor at the rear of the tractor, directly adjacent to the PTO output shaft.

   Disconnect and Inspect

   Unplug the sensor harness. Clean the connector with electrical contact cleaner and verify the pins are intact.

   Harness Continuity Test

   Using a multimeter, check the continuity of the two wires from the sensor connector back to the CCH module pins. Repair any breaks in the wiring harness.

   Replace the Sensor

   If the wiring is good, the configuration is correct, and no AC frequency is being generated by the sensor, the sensor has failed internally. Unbolt the old sensor, install the new one, and plug in the connector.

   Clear Codes

   Turn the key on and use the tractor's diagnostic menu (or a dealer service tool) to clear the stored 5019 fault code. Test the PTO engagement to ensure the speed registers on the corner post/ICU display.
