New Holland R-PTO 5025 – Rear PTO Control Module: Diagnosis of the drive monitoring module on the low pressure side of the PTO

The tractor's control system has detected an electrical or operational anomaly in the actuator/solenoid circuit that controls the low-pressure hydraulic side of the Rear Power Take-Off (PTO) system.

   Verify the 12V supply to the PTO system to rule out a low voltage supply or a blown fuse (often indicated by related codes 5026 or 5032).

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the Rear PTO solenoid for damaged wires, loose connectors, or bent pins that could cause an open circuit or a short to ground.

   Test the Rear PTO solenoid coil for continuity and proper resistance using a multimeter to identify a failed coil.

   Pressure test the low-pressure side of the PTO pump with the PTO switched both off and on to ensure the hydraulic readings are within factory specifications.

   Check the clutch speed sensor and shaft size speed sensor, as failures here can sometimes cascade and cause drive monitoring faults.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all implements, turn off the engine, and remove the key. Allow the hydraulic system to cool.

   Relieve Pressure

   Relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the system before opening the PTO valve block.

   Locate the Solenoid

   Locate the Rear PTO solenoid valve, typically mounted on the rear PTO housing or the main hydraulic control valve block at the rear of the tractor.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Carefully disconnect the electrical harness connector from the solenoid.

   Remove the Solenoid

   Unbolt or unscrew the faulty Rear PTO solenoid valve from the housing. Be prepared with a catch pan for a small amount of hydraulic fluid loss.

   Install New Part

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean hydraulic fluid (e.g., 134 D fluid). Install the new solenoid and torque it to OEM specifications.

   Reconnect and Test

   Reconnect the wiring harness. Start the tractor, clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool, and engage the Rear PTO to verify the repair and check for leaks.
