New Holland SFA 10001 – SFA (Suspended Front Axle) controller / Front Suspension module: Front suspension Pump Not tank Valve solenoid is open circuit or shorted to ground

The controller has detected a break in the wiring (open circuit), a short to ground, or a failed solenoid coil on the valve responsible for controlling the upward movement/lockout of the front axle suspension.

   Inspect connector X507 at the upper lockout / pump-to-tank solenoid.

   Inspect connector X259 of the front suspension harness.

   Inspect inline connector X020 of the main cable harness and connector X099 at the suspension controller.

   Verify that all connectors are fully plugged in, pins are not pushed back or corroded, and the connection is secure.

   Check the specific wiring for the Upper Lockout Solenoid (Connector X507): Pin 1 (Orange wire 3280) and Pin 2 (Tan wire 3281) for continuity to the controller and ensure they are not shorted to the chassis.

   Prepare machine

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the front suspension (if possible) or safely support the chassis to relieve hydraulic pressure, and turn off the engine.

   Locate solenoid

   Locate the front suspension valve block and identify the upper lockout / pump-to-tank solenoid (Connector X507).

   Inspect connector

   Disconnect connector X507 and inspect the terminals for moisture, dirt, or damage.

   Test solenoid coil

   Using a multimeter, measure the resistance across the solenoid coil pins. If the reading is infinite (open circuit) or zero/near-zero to the solenoid body (short to ground), the solenoid coil has failed internally.

   Test wiring harness

   If the solenoid tests good, use the multimeter to check the Orange wire (3280) and Tan wire (3281) for breaks or chafing between the valve block and the suspension controller (checking through connectors X259, X020, and X099). Repair the wiring harness if a break or short is found.

   Replace solenoid coil

   If the solenoid is faulty, remove the retaining nut/clip, slide the old solenoid coil off the valve stem, and install the replacement solenoid.

   Reassemble and test

   Reconnect the wiring harness, clear the fault codes using the tractor's diagnostic menu or service tool, and test the suspension operation.

8. 8

   Calibrate suspension

   If required by the specific model's service manual, perform a front suspension calibration procedure.
