New Holland SFA 10005 – ATC (Advanced Tractor Control / Alta Implement): Front Suspension Position sensor out of Range Low Error

The signal voltage or digital reading from the front axle suspension position sensor (potentiometer) has dropped below the minimum acceptable threshold programmed into the control module.

   Physically inspect the sensor on the front axle to ensure the linkage arm is not bent, broken, or mechanically disconnected.

   Check the wiring harness leading to the potentiometer to verify it is receiving 5V reference power, has a solid ground, and the signal wire is not open or shorted to ground.

   Access the tractor's diagnostic/calibration menu and check the live potentiometer reading. If the value is less than 240, the sensor has failed internally.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and safely support the front chassis if hydraulic pressure needs to be relieved from the front suspension cylinders.

   Removal

   Locate the front axle position sensor (potentiometer) mounted on the front axle suspension assembly. Disconnect the electrical harness connector.

   Dismount

   Unbolt the sensor linkage arm and remove the mounting bolts securing the sensor to the bracket. Remove the faulty sensor.

   Installation

   Mount the new sensor and reattach the linkage arm. Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Calibration

   Perform a front suspension calibration using the tractor's in-cab display or diagnostic tool to allow the ATC module to learn the new sensor's full range of motion.
