SFA 10007

New Holland SFA 10007 – SFA (Suspended Front Axle) control module / Front Suspension system: Front Suspension will not Lower error

Issue description

The front axle weight has been reduced, but the suspension system is unable to return to its set point or reset to its nominal height.

Applies to these machines

  • New Holland T8 Series (T8.275, T8.300, T8.320, T8.330, T8.350, T8.360, T8.380, T8.390, T8.410, T8.420, T8.435)
  • New Holland T7 Series
  • New Holland T6 Series

Check the cause

  1. Check weight distribution to see if weight was transferred from the front to the rear wheels (e.g., raising a heavy rear-mounted implement), which reduces front axle weight.

  2. Inspect the front suspension hydraulic components, including hoses, fittings, and suspension cylinders, for leaks or physical damage.

  3. Verify the front suspension position sensor (potentiometer) is reading accurately and has not lost calibration.

  4. Perform an electronic reset by disconnecting the tractor's battery for a short period to clear transient errors.

Repair steps

  1. Initial Reset

Stop the tractor, switch off the engine, and restart it. This basic reset can sometimes clear the error code and re-enable the suspension.

  2. Adjust Ballast

If the error code re-occurs immediately, the tractor may lack the necessary front-end weight. Add front weight/ballast to ensure stability and steering control, taking care not to exceed the maximum allowable axle and vehicle weights.

  3. Inspect Solenoids and Valves

If the weight is correct but the suspension still will not lower, inspect the suspension control valve assembly and the lower lockout solenoid for electrical shorts or mechanical binding.

  4. Calibrate Sensors

Use the manufacturer's diagnostic tool to recalibrate the front suspension position sensors according to OEM guidelines.

  5. Software Update

Ensure the tractor's front suspension control module software is updated to the latest version provided by New Holland, as updates often contain bug fixes for suspension leveling logic.

  6. Replace Defective Components

If the lower lockout solenoid or the main suspension valve block has failed, replace the defective component and bleed the hydraulic system.
