New Holland SFA 10008 – Front Suspension Controller: Front Suspension Piston Pressure transducer range high error
Issue description
This indicates that the voltage signal returning from the front suspension piston pressure transducer to the controller is higher than the expected normal operating range. This condition is typically caused by a short to power (5V or 12V reference), an open ground circuit, or an internal failure of the transducer itself.
Applies to these machines
8 machines- New Holland T8.xxx Series
- New Holland T8.275
- New Holland T8.300
- New Holland T8.330
- New Holland T8.360
- New Holland T8.390
- New Holland T8.410
- New Holland T8.420
Check the cause
Visually inspect the wiring harness and the connector at the Front Suspension Piston Pressure transducer for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or physical damage.
Disconnect the transducer and use a multimeter to check the signal wire for a short to the 5V or 12V supply voltage.
Verify that the ground circuit to the transducer is intact. An open ground will cause the signal voltage to default to its highest range, triggering this specific error.
If the wiring harness tests good (proper reference voltage, intact ground, and continuity on the signal wire), conclude that the transducer has failed internally.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Park the tractor on a hard, level surface. Safely support the front chassis of the tractor and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the front suspension system to prevent fluid injection or sudden dropping of the axle.
Locate the Transducer
Locate the Front Suspension Piston Pressure transducer, which is threaded into the front suspension control valve block.
Remove the Faulty Sensor
Disconnect the electrical connector and carefully unscrew the pressure transducer from the valve block.
Install the New Sensor
Thread the new transducer into the valve block. According to the New Holland T8 service manual, tighten the pressure transducer to a torque of 20 Nm (14.8 lb ft).
Reconnect and Clear
Reconnect the electrical harness and clear the SFA 10008 fault code using the tractor's diagnostic menu or a service tool.
Recalibrate the Suspension
You must perform a front suspension calibration. Navigate to the "FSUS CAL" screen on the tractor's display. Press the PROG key to start the calibration process. The system will run automatically, moving the front suspension up and down through its complete mechanical range to relearn the sensor values.
Parts you might need
(1)Front Suspension Piston Pressure Transducer
The exact CNH part number depends heavily on the specific tractor PIN/Serial Number and the specific valve block revision. You will need to reference the CNH parts catalog under section "25 - FRONT AXLE SYSTEM" (specifically 25.122 - Axle suspension control) for the exact fitment.
