New Holland TMF 110 – Armrest Controller / TMF Controller: Aux 3rd remote valve LEVER potentiometer is failed in the Armrest Controller
Issue description
The system has detected an error state, open circuit, or short in the potentiometer responsible for sensing the position of the lever that controls the 3rd auxiliary electro-hydraulic remote (EHR) valve.
Applies to these machines
12 machines- T6
- T7
- T8
- T9
- T8010
- T8020
- T8030
- T8040
- TG215

Check the cause
Check for related armrest communication fault codes (such as TMF 12 or 129) which may indicate a broader module failure rather than an isolated potentiometer issue.
Inspect CAN bus connections to the armrest controller, specifically checking active terminators on older models (like the TG series) which are prone to failure.
Inspect the Armrest Controller board for broken solder joints where the pins from the plug solder to the board.
Test the 3rd remote lever potentiometer for an open circuit, a short to ground, or a short to the 5V reference supply.
Repair steps
Power down and disconnect battery
Power down the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Disassemble armrest console
Disassemble the armrest console to access the Armrest Controller and the electro-hydraulic remote (EHR) lever assembly.
Inspect wiring harness
Inspect the wiring harness and connector pins specifically routing to the 3rd remote valve lever potentiometer for corrosion, backed-out pins, or wire chafing.
Remove faulty potentiometer
If the wiring is intact but the potentiometer failed the diagnostic resistance/voltage test, remove the faulty potentiometer from the electronic draft control section of the armrest unit.
Install replacement potentiometer
Install the replacement potentiometer.
Inspect or replace Armrest Controller
If the potentiometer tests fine but the fault persists, inspect the Armrest Controller circuit board. If broken solder joints are found at the connector pins or CAN terminators, either repair the solder joints or replace the entire Armrest Controller module.
Reassemble and clear codes
Reassemble the armrest, reconnect the battery, and clear the fault codes.
Perform calibration
Perform a calibration routine for the electro-hydraulic remote levers to ensure the new potentiometer is recognized correctly by the TMF controller.
