TMF 111

New Holland TMF 111 – Armrest Controller: Aux 4th remote valve LEVER potentiometer is failed in the Armrest Controller

Issue description

The system is receiving an out-of-range, erratic, or missing electrical signal from the potentiometer that tracks the physical position of the 4th auxiliary remote hydraulic lever on the operator's armrest.

Applies to these machines

  • T6
  • T7
  • T8
  • T9
  • TG
  • TM
  • MXM
  • CR
  • CX
  • CR9090
  • CX8080
  • CX8090

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness connecting to the 4th remote lever for broken wires, chafing, or loose pins, paying special attention to the area an inch or two below the connector plug.

  2. Perform a swap test by temporarily swapping the electrical connection of the 4th remote lever with an adjacent, working remote lever (like the 3rd or 5th). If the fault code changes to match the new position, the lever/potentiometer has failed. If TMF 111 persists, the issue is in the wiring or controller board.

  3. Verify if the armrest controller requires a software update and attempt a remote valve calibration through the A-post or cab monitor before replacing hard parts.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts to the sensitive armrest controller.

  2. Access the Armrest

Remove the retaining screws and carefully open the armrest console cover to expose the remote valve levers and the armrest controller circuit board.

  3. Disconnect the Lever

Locate the 4th auxiliary remote lever assembly. Carefully disconnect its electrical connector from the wiring harness.

  4. Remove the Faulty Component

Unbolt or unclip the 4th remote lever/potentiometer assembly from its mounting bracket inside the armrest.

  5. Install the New Part

Secure the replacement lever/potentiometer assembly into the armrest and reconnect the electrical plug.

  6. Reassemble

Carefully close the armrest console, ensuring no wires are pinched, and reinstall the retaining screws.

  7. Calibration

Reconnect the battery and turn the key on. You must perform a lever calibration and a remote valve spool travel calibration through the tractor's display (A-post or IntelliView monitor).
