New Holland TMF 113 – Armrest Controller: Aux 2nd remote valve FLOW potentiometer is failed in the Armrest Controller.
Issue description
The data from the flow control potentiometer for the #2 electro-hydraulic remote (EHR) lever is in an error state. The controller is detecting an out-of-range signal, an open circuit, or a short circuit from the dial used to adjust the hydraulic flow rate for the second remote valve.
Applies to these machines
5 machines- T4 Series (T4.80 to T4.110)
- T6 Series (T6.140 to T6.180)
- T7 Series (T7.170 to T7.315)
- T8 Series (T8.275 to T8.435)
- T9 Series (T9.435 to T9.700)
Check the cause
Visually inspect the #2 remote valve flow control knob on the armrest to ensure it rotates smoothly and is not physically broken or jammed.
Open the armrest console and inspect the wiring harness connecting to the potentiometer for chafed wires, loose connector pins, or corrosion.
Test the potentiometer with a multimeter (1000 Ohm spec). Check for a smooth change in resistance as the dial is turned and verify it is not testing 'open' to the center pin.
Inspect the armrest controller's printed circuit board (PCB) for broken solder joints where the potentiometer or harness plugs in.
Repair steps
Prep the Machine
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts while working inside the armrest.
Access the Armrest Internals
Remove the retaining screws (typically Phillips or Torx) to lift the top cover/electric panel off the armrest control unit.
Remove the Knob
Pull the plastic rotary knob off the top of the #2 flow control potentiometer.
Extract the Potentiometer
Disconnect the wiring harness from the faulty potentiometer. Remove the retaining nut (3/8-32 thread) securing the potentiometer to the armrest panel.
Install the New Part
Insert the new potentiometer through the panel, secure it with the retaining nut, and press the control knob back onto the shaft.
Reassembly
Reconnect the electrical harness to the new potentiometer. Carefully seat the armrest cover back into place and reinstall the retaining screws.
Calibration
Reconnect the battery and turn the key on. Clear the inactive TMF 113 fault code. Depending on the tractor model, you may need to navigate through the IntelliView monitor to perform a remote valve calibration procedure to sync the new potentiometer's sweep with the controller.
