New Holland TMF 125 – TMF (Tractor Multifunction Controller): Aux 1st Raise Coil solenoid shorted to 12 volts.

The control module has detected current on the circuit for the Auxiliary 1 (Remote 1) valve's 'extend' or 'raise' solenoid coil when the driver circuit is commanded OFF. This indicates that the circuit is shorted directly to a 12-volt power source, either internally within the solenoid coil or within the wiring harness.

   Disconnect the electrical connector for the Auxiliary 1 (Remote 1) 'Raise/Extend' solenoid coil located at the rear valve block.

   Turn the tractor key to the ON position and check the active fault codes.

   Observe code changes: If the code changes from TMF 125 to TMF 126, the wiring is fine and the solenoid coil is internally shorted. If the code remains TMF 125, the short to 12 volts is located in the wiring harness.

   If the harness is suspect (code remains TMF 125), use a digital multimeter to probe the signal wire at the solenoid connector for 12V while the valve is commanded off. Trace the harness back to the TMF controller looking for chafed wires rubbing against a 12V supply.

   Disconnect battery

   If the wiring harness is shorted: Disconnect the tractor's negative battery cable.

   Inspect wiring harness

   Trace the wiring harness from the Aux 1 valve back to the TMF controller. Inspect pinch points, especially where the harness routes near the cab mounts or rear axle.

   Remove damaged wire

   Cut out the melted or chafed section of the wire.

   Splice new wire

   Splice in a new section of wire using weather-sealed (heat-shrink) butt connectors.

   Protect repaired wire

   Wrap the repaired section in a protective wire loom and secure it with zip ties away from moving parts.

   Relieve hydraulic pressure

   If the solenoid coil is internally shorted: Ensure the tractor is off and hydraulic pressure is relieved.

   Disconnect solenoid

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the faulty Aux 1 Raise solenoid.

   Remove retaining nut

   Remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve spool cartridge holding the coil in place.

   Replace solenoid coil

   Slide the old solenoid coil off the cartridge stem. Slide the new OEM solenoid coil onto the stem.

    Reinstall retaining nut

    Reinstall and tighten the retaining nut (do not overtighten, as this can warp the cartridge).

    Reconnect solenoid

    Plug the electrical connector into the new coil.

    Test operation

    Turn the tractor on, clear the inactive fault codes from the TMF module, and test the Remote 1 valve for proper operation.
