TMF 132

New Holland TMF 132 – TMF: Aux 3rd Lower solenoid failed open or short circuit.

Issue description

The controller has commanded the Auxiliary #3 driver to turn on (to retract or lower), but no electrical current is being sensed. This points to the retract/lower coil being either open (broken wire/failed coil) or shorted to ground.

Applies to these machines

  • New Holland TG Series
  • New Holland T8000 Series
  • New Holland T8040
  • New Holland MXM Series
  • New Holland TM Series

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the 3rd auxiliary remote valve block at the rear of the tractor for pinched wires, chafing, or disconnected plugs.

  2. Disconnect the harness at the Aux 3rd lower solenoid and check the pins for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out terminals.

  3. Measure the resistance across the pins of the Aux 3rd lower solenoid coil. An infinite reading indicates an internal open circuit (failed coil), while a reading of zero indicates a dead short.

  4. With the solenoid unplugged, check for continuity between the solenoid connector and the TMF controller pins. Test the power wire for a short to ground.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent accidental shorting during repair.

  2. Access the Valve Stack

Locate the electronic remote control valve stack (usually at the rear of the tractor). Identify the 3rd auxiliary valve block.

  3. Remove the Solenoid

Disconnect the electrical connector from the Aux 3rd lower (retract) solenoid. Remove the retaining nut or screws holding the solenoid coil to the valve cartridge.

  4. Replace the Coil

Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve stem. Slide the new replacement coil into place and secure it with the retaining hardware. (If the entire proportional valve cartridge is damaged, the cartridge itself may need to be unthreaded and replaced).

  5. Reconnect and Test

Reconnect the electrical harness. Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and clear the inactive fault codes. Cycle the 3rd auxiliary remote lever in the cab to verify the lower/retract function operates smoothly without triggering the TMF 132 code.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • Auxiliary Valve Solenoid / Remote Valve Solenoid Coil (Lower/Retract)

    82008133

Generic kit reference. Verify fitment against specific machine's serial number (PIN). Ensure replacing the 'Lower/Retract' coil on the 3rd valve slice, not the 'Raise/Extend' coil.

  • Auxiliary Valve Solenoid / Remote Valve Solenoid Coil (Lower/Retract)

    82008184

Generic kit reference. Verify fitment against specific machine's serial number (PIN). Ensure replacing the 'Lower/Retract' coil on the 3rd valve slice, not the 'Raise/Extend' coil.
