TMF 136

New Holland TMF 136 – TMF Controller: Aux 4th Lower solenoid failed open or short circuit.

Issue description

The controller has commanded the Auxiliary #4 driver to turn ON, but no electrical current is being sensed. This indicates that the retract/lower coil on the 4th auxiliary remote valve has an open circuit or is shorted to ground.

Applies to these machines

  • T8010
  • T8020
  • T8030
  • T8040
  • T8050
  • TG215
  • TG245
  • TG275
  • TG305

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the wiring harness and components leading to the 4th auxiliary remote valve for physical damage, pinched wires, or loose connections.

  2. Use a multimeter to test the retract/lower solenoid coil on the 4th remote valve for an open circuit (infinite resistance) or a short to ground.

  3. Verify continuity between the TMF controller pins and the solenoid connector to rule out a broken wire in the main harness.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect battery power before servicing the electro-hydraulic system.

  2. Access the Valve Stack

Locate the auxiliary remote valve stack at the rear of the tractor and identify the 4th remote valve section.

  3. Wiring Repair

If the diagnostic checks revealed damaged wiring or a corroded connector, repair or replace the damaged section of the harness.

  4. Solenoid Replacement

If the wiring is intact but the solenoid coil is open or shorted, remove the retaining nut/hardware holding the lower/retract solenoid coil to the 4th remote valve cartridge and replace it with a new coil.

  5. Reassembly

Reconnect the wiring harness to the new solenoid and restore battery power.

  6. Mandatory Calibration

Perform the remote hydraulic calibration procedure via the tractor's display/monitor before returning the machine to service.
