New Holland TMF 25 – Armrest Controller: Hitch Up/Down Switch failed in the Armrest controller

The controller is receiving an invalid, out-of-range, or missing electrical signal from the switch used by the operator to raise and lower the rear hitch.

   Visually inspect the physical condition of the Hitch Up/Down switch on the armrest control panel for sticking or mechanical failure.

   Test the hitch switch positions to verify states: Position A (Hitch up), Position B (Center position), and Position C (Momentary).

   Perform pin voltage and continuity checks at the J210 connector on the armrest controller (J210-1: down signal, J210-3: fast down signal, J210-4: up signal, J210-5: 12V switch power).

   Inspect the wiring harness for breaks or shorts, particularly just below the plug where wires are prone to bending and breaking.

   Verify if there is a software execution error in the armrest controller, which can trigger this code erroneously.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during disassembly.

   Access the Armrest Console

   Carefully remove the covers of the armrest control panel to expose the internal wiring and the back of the hitch switches.

   Inspect the Harness

   Check the wiring harness leading to the J210 connector. Look for broken solder joints, chafed wires, or loose pins. Repair any damaged wiring.

   Test the Switch

   Disconnect the Hitch Up/Down switch and test it for continuity across its different positions (Up, Center, Down/Momentary). If the switch fails to show proper continuity or the internal contacts are worn, it must be replaced.

   Replace the Component

   If the switch is faulty, install the new OEM rocker/micro switch into the console and reconnect the harness.

   Reassemble and Calibrate

   Reassemble the armrest console and reconnect the battery. If a new switch or a replacement armrest controller was installed, you will need to use the tractor's diagnostic interface to calibrate the remote levers and hitch control.
