New Holland TMF 41 – TMF (Tractor Multi-Function) Controller / ARU (Armrest Controller): Draft pin(s) detected but the Armrest controller specified tractor without draft control.
Issue description
This fault code indicates a configuration mismatch or an electrical circuit error. The tractor's control system is receiving a voltage signal indicative of Electronic Draft Control (EDC) load-sensing pins being present and active. However, the tractor's software configuration in the Armrest controller is programmed to indicate that the machine was built without draft control.
Applies to these machines
6 machines- New Holland T6 Series
- New Holland T7 Series
- New Holland T8 Series
- New Holland T9 Series
- New Holland TM Series (TM175, TM190, MXM)
- New Holland Genesis Series (8670, 8770, 8870, 8970)
Check the cause
Physically inspect the lower links of the 3-point hitch to determine if electronic draft sensing pins are actually installed on the machine (Visual Equipment Verification).
Access the tractor's configuration menu via the IntelliView monitor or dealer Electronic Service Tool to verify the 'Draft Control' parameter.
If the tractor does not have draft control: Inspect the blanked-off EDC harness connectors at the rear of the tractor for corrosion, water ingress, or chafed wires shorting to power.
If the tractor does have draft control: Check the live voltage readings of the left and right draft pins in the diagnostic menu to see if they are reading out of range.
Repair steps
Correct the Software Configuration
If the tractor is physically equipped with draft pins, use the display monitor or dealer service tool to change the Armrest controller configuration from 'Without Draft Control' to 'With Draft Control'. Save the settings and cycle the key.
Isolate the Circuit
If the tractor is not equipped with draft control, locate the EDC harness at the rear. Disconnect it and clean the connectors. Use a multimeter to test the signal wire leading back to the TMF controller for a short to 12V power.
Repair Wiring
If a short is found in the harness, trace the wire back to the cab and repair the chafed or melted section.
Replace the Sensor
If the tractor is equipped with draft control, the configuration is correct, but the sensor is internally shorted and causing logic errors, replace the faulty draft pin sensor.
Perform Hitch Calibration
After resolving the configuration or electrical issue, clear the fault codes. You must perform a hitch calibration. (Note: engine speed must be set above 1600 RPM during calibration and the tractor must remain completely stationary).
