TMF 57

New Holland TMF 57 – TMF (Tractor Multi-Function): Right Draft Pin voltage is not within spec for 'no load' condition during calibration.

Issue description

The voltage signal coming from the right draft pin (the load-sensing pin for the 3-point hitch's Electronic Draft Control) is outside the expected offset range when the system is checking for a 'no load' state during the hitch calibration procedure.

Applies to these machines

  • New Holland TG Series (TG210, TG230, TG255, TG285)
  • New Holland T7 Series
  • New Holland T8 Series
  • New Holland T9 Series
  • New Holland MXM / TM Series

Check the cause

  1. Verify 'No Load' condition by ensuring there is absolutely no implement attached and no weight resting on the 3-point hitch lower links during calibration

  2. Inspect the right draft pin sensor, its connector, and the wiring harness for physical damage, broken wires, or corrosion

  3. Enter the tractor's diagnostic mode and use the 'H' routines (specifically H33 for the Right Draft Pin) to monitor the live voltage reading of the sensor

  4. Check the voltage of the left draft pin (routine H34) to compare; if both are out of spec, investigate a shared ground or 5V reference issue rather than a single failed pin

Repair steps

  1. Unload the Hitch

Remove any attachments from the 3-point hitch to ensure a true zero-load state.

  2. Test the Circuit

If the diagnostic routine shows the voltage is out of range, use a multimeter to verify that the sensor is receiving the correct 5V reference and ground from the TMF controller.

  3. Replace the Sensor

If the wiring harness tests good but the right draft pin voltage remains out of specification, the internal strain gauge of the draft pin has failed. Remove the retaining hardware and replace the right draft pin sensor.

  4. Recalibrate the Hitch

After replacing the draft pin, you must perform a full Hitch Controller Calibration procedure. (Note: You will likely see fault code TMF 61 active, which simply means the hitch calibration procedure must be performed).
