New Holland TMF 59 – TMF (Tractor Multi-Function) Controller: Both Draft Pin voltages are not within spec for ‘no load’ condition during calibration
Issue description
During the hitch calibration procedure, the controller is reading a baseline voltage from both the left and right draft pins (load sensors) that falls outside the acceptable programmed parameters for an unloaded state.

- TG230
- TG255
- TG285

- T7 Series
Check the cause
Verify 'No Load' State: Ensure there is absolutely no implement attached to the 3-point hitch and that the hitch is completely free to move without binding.
Harness & Connector Inspection: Check the wiring harness and connectors leading to both the left and right draft pins for physical damage, corrosion, or short circuits.
Reference Voltage Check: Check the reference voltage supplied to the draft pins by the TMF controller. Depending on the specific tractor model, this should be a steady 5-volt or 8-volt reference.
Sensor Check: If the wiring and reference voltages are intact, the draft pins themselves have likely failed internally or drifted out of calibration range.
Repair steps
Remove Implements
Disconnect any implements from the 3-point hitch to ensure a true 'no load' condition.
Repair Wiring
If diagnostic checks revealed damaged wiring or corroded connectors at the lower link arms, repair or replace the affected harness sections.
Replace Draft Pins
If the harness is good, replace the faulty draft pin sensors on the lower hitch links.
Recalibrate
After replacing the sensors or repairing the wiring, you must perform the Hitch Calibration procedure.
Alternative Bypass (Optional)
If the tractor is used in an application where draft control is never needed (e.g., pulling a feed wagon), aftermarket 'Draft Load Sensing Pin Elimination Kits' can be installed. These plug into the harness to send a fixed 'no load' voltage to the TMF controller, permanently bypassing the sensors and clearing the code.
