New Holland TMF 60 – TMF (Tractor Multi-Function) Controller: Draft pin connected to left vs right for single pin setup during calibration.

During the electronic hitch calibration process, the tractor's control system is configured to expect only one draft pin sensor (a single-pin setup). However, the controller detects that the single draft pin is physically plugged into the left-side circuit rather than the required right-side circuit.

   Access the Armrest/TMF controller settings to verify if the tractor is programmed for a single draft pin or dual draft pins.

   Locate the draft pin sensor(s) on the lower hitch links and verify which side the sensor is plugged into (the system expects a single pin to be on the right side).

   Ensure the left and right draft pin wiring harness connectors have not been accidentally swapped during previous maintenance or transmission/rear-frame splitting.

   Look for related codes TMF 57, TMF 58, or TMF 59, which indicate that the draft pin voltages are outside the normal operating range for a no-load condition.

   Correct the Configuration or Connection

   If the tractor actually has two draft pins installed: Go into the TMF controller configuration menu and change the setup from a single-pin to a dual-pin configuration. If the tractor is only supposed to have one draft pin: Physically disconnect the draft pin sensor from the left-side harness connector and plug it into the correct right-side harness connector.

   Perform Hitch Calibration

   Fixing the pin location will immediately trigger fault code TMF 61. Initiate and complete the electronic hitch calibration procedure. Ensure the engine speed is set above 1600 RPM and the hitch is completely free of any implements or loads during this process.

   Clear Codes

   Once calibration is successful, clear the inactive fault codes from the TMF controller and verify that TMF 60 does not return.
