New Holland TMF 90 – Armrest Controller: Differential Lock Switch is failed in the Armrest Controller

The controller detects an invalid state: Both the differential lock 'Auto' and 'On' (manual) switch circuits are active at the same time.

   Physically inspect the differential lock rocker switch on the right-hand armrest console to ensure it is not broken, stuck, or jammed between positions.

   Remove the switch and perform a continuity test using a digital multimeter. Check if there is continuity on both the 'Auto' and 'On' output pins simultaneously. If both are closed at the same time, the switch is internally shorted.

   Inspect the wiring harness inside the armrest console. Look for chafed wires, melted insulation, or pinched harnesses that could be shorting the 'Auto' and 'On' signal wires together or shorting them to a voltage source.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical damage while working inside the controller console.

   Access the Armrest Console

   Remove the retaining screws securing the cover/panel of the right-hand armrest control console to expose the internal wiring and switches.

   Remove the Switch

   Locate the differential lock rocker switch. Carefully depress the locking tab and unplug the electrical connector from the back of the switch.

   Extract the Faulty Part

   Squeeze the retaining clips on the sides of the switch body and push it upward/outward to remove it from the console bezel.

   Install the New Switch

   Snap the new OEM differential lock switch into the console bezel until it clicks securely into place.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical harness connector into the new switch.

   Reassemble

   Carefully tuck the wiring back into place and reinstall the armrest console cover and screws.

   Test

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the key on, clear the inactive TMF 90 fault code via the display monitor, and test the differential lock in both 'Auto' and 'Manual/On' modes to ensure proper operation.
