   Inspect the Connector: Locate the steering angle sensor and disconnect its harness connector (often designated as C014 in CNH schematics). Check for moisture, dirt, corrosion, or damaged pins.

   Test for Shorts/Opens: With the key OFF, use a multimeter to check the harness side of the connector. Test the signal, power, and ground pins for a short to a 12V power source or an open ground circuit.

   Check Live Data: If the wiring is intact, use the in-cab display (e.g., Intelliview IV) or a diagnostic tool to monitor the steering angle sensor voltage/counts while turning the steering wheel. Look for voltages that spike out of range or remain stuck high.

   Clear and Retest: Clear the fault code via the display menu (INFO > FAULTS) and turn the steering wheel to see if the code returns immediately, which confirms a hard fault rather than an intermittent glitch.

   Location varies by model; it may be mounted on the front steering axle for MFD/Diff-lock monitoring or within the steering column for autoguidance systems.
