New Holland TRANS 113 – Transmission Control Module (TCU): Creeper clutch solenoid or its wiring failed open or shorted to ground
Issue description
The control module is unable to complete the electrical circuit required to actuate the creeper gear clutch. This condition is triggered when the system detects infinite resistance (an open circuit, such as a broken wire or burnt-out solenoid coil) or zero resistance to ground (a short circuit, such as a bare wire touching the machine's chassis).

Check the cause
Check battery voltage to ensure it is sufficient, as low voltage can cause clutch solenoid operation failures.
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the transmission control valve block for chafed insulation, pinched wires, or areas rubbing against the chassis.
Disconnect the electrical plug at the creeper clutch solenoid and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or damage.
Use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the pins of the creeper clutch solenoid. An infinite (OL) reading indicates the internal coil has failed open.
Test the wiring harness between the transmission controller and the solenoid connector for continuity, and test the power/signal wire for continuity to ground to verify if there is a short circuit.
Repair steps
Preparation
Park the machine on a level surface, engage the parking brake, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.
Locate the Solenoid
Locate the transmission hydraulic control valve block (refer to your specific model's service manual for the exact location, usually on the side or top of the transmission housing). Identify the specific solenoid designated for the Creeper Clutch.
Harness Repair (If Applicable)
If the diagnostic tests revealed a broken or shorted wire, repair the damaged section of the wiring harness using proper weather-sealed connectors, or replace the damaged pigtail connector.
Solenoid Removal
If the solenoid coil failed the resistance test, clean the area around the valve block to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system. Disconnect the electrical harness from the solenoid.
Extract the Valve
Remove the retaining nut or bolts securing the creeper clutch solenoid. Carefully pull the solenoid valve out of the block. Have a rag ready to catch residual hydraulic fluid.
Installation
Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean hydraulic fluid. Insert the new solenoid into the valve block and tighten the retaining fastener to the OEM torque specification.
Reassembly
Reconnect the electrical harness to the new solenoid.
Testing
Reconnect the battery, start the machine, and clear the stored fault codes. Engage the creeper gear to verify smooth operation and ensure the TRANS 113 code does not return.
