New Holland TRANS 131 – TRANS: Mid range clutch is not calibrated

This typically happens if a new transmission controller is installed, the non-volatile memory is reset, or the internal clutch pack has worn beyond its previously learned operational parameters.

   Ensure transmission oil is warmed up to operating temperature (around 176°F/80°C). Calibration may be blocked if oil is too cold (below 68°F/20°C) or too hot (above 212°F/100°C).

   Check for active electrical faults related to clutch solenoids (e.g., TRANS 111 or F2U) which indicate hardware or wiring failures that calibration cannot fix.

   Verify the engine can maintain a steady 1200 RPM without fluctuations to prevent U21 or U22 calibration errors.

   Park the tractor on a flat surface and engage the handbrake.

   Enter calibration mode.

   On many models, this is done by pressing and holding both the upshift and downshift buttons while starting the tractor, or by using the instrument cluster buttons to navigate to the 'H1' (Clutch and Synchroniser Calibration) menu.

   Acknowledge the transmission oil temperature on the display to proceed.

   Set the engine speed to exactly 1200 RPM (+/- 50 RPM).
