New Holland TRANS 137 – TRANS: Front Suspension raise lock solenoid circuit shorted or open circuit.
Issue description
This indicates an electrical failure in the circuit that controls the solenoid responsible for locking the front axle suspension in the raised position. The controller has detected that the circuit is either broken (open circuit, such as a disconnected plug or severed wire) or shorted (touching a ground or another power source).

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness running from the transmission controller down to the front suspension hydraulic valve block for chafed wires, pinch points, or rodent damage.
Disconnect the plug at the raise lock solenoid on the suspension manifold and check for water intrusion, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.
Using a multimeter, measure the resistance across the two pins of the solenoid coil. A healthy 12V coil reads between 5 to 15 ohms. Infinite resistance (OL) indicates an internal open circuit, and near 0 ohms indicates an internal short.
If the coil tests good, check the wiring harness for continuity between the solenoid connector and the TRANS controller pins. Test both the power supply and ground wires for shorts to the chassis.
Repair steps
Safety First
Park the tractor on a level surface. Lower any implements, safely support the front chassis, and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the front suspension system.
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes.
Remove the Solenoid
Locate the front suspension valve block. Unplug the electrical connector from the raise lock solenoid.
Dismount the Coil
Remove the retaining nut or snap-ring at the top of the solenoid stem. Slide the faulty electromagnetic coil off the hydraulic valve cartridge. (Note: If the valve cartridge itself is physically sticking or leaking, unscrew the cartridge from the manifold block and replace it as well).
Install the New Part
Slide the new solenoid coil over the valve stem and secure it with the retaining nut. Do not overtighten, as this can distort the cartridge.
Reassembly
Reconnect the wiring harness plug. Reconnect the battery.
Clear Codes & Calibrate
Start the tractor and clear the inactive fault codes. Important: You may need to perform a front suspension calibration procedure after servicing the valve block.
