New Holland TRANS 139 – TRANS: Front Suspension lower lock solenoid circuit is shorted or has an open circuit

The controller is detecting an electrical fault (either a broken wire/burned-out coil or a short to ground/power) in the circuit that controls the lowering or locking function of the active front suspension.

   Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the lower lock solenoid (near the front axle) for chafing, rodent damage, or pinched wires.

   Disconnect the harness at the solenoid and check the pins for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out terminals.

   Measure the resistance across the two pins of the solenoid coil using a multimeter (infinite resistance indicates an open circuit; near 0 ohms indicates a short circuit).

   If the coil tests within normal specifications, check the wiring harness from the solenoid connector back to the TRANS controller for continuity and ensure there is no short to ground.

   Safety First

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower any implements, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent accidental shorting. Ensure the front suspension is mechanically supported or fully lowered to relieve hydraulic pressure.

   Locate the Valve

   Identify the front suspension control valve block and locate the specific lower lock (rod side) solenoid.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid.

   Remove the Coil

   Remove the retaining nut or clip at the end of the solenoid valve stem.

   Slide Off

   Slide the old electromagnetic coil off the hydraulic valve cartridge. (Note: You usually do not need to open the hydraulic system or remove the valve cartridge itself just to replace the coil).

   Install New Coil

   Slide the new OEM solenoid coil onto the valve stem and secure it with the retaining nut/clip.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical harness back into the new solenoid.

   Clear Codes & Test

   Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and clear the stored fault codes via the armrest display or diagnostic tool. Cycle the front suspension through its travel range to ensure the code does not return and the suspension levels correctly.
