TRANS 150

New Holland TRANS 150 – Transmission Controller (TRANS): Front suspension pressure sensor rod side (DA-R) out of range high

Issue description

The voltage signal returning from the pressure sensor on the rod side of the front axle suspension cylinder is exceeding the maximum expected threshold. This condition typically points to a short circuit to power, an open ground wire in the sensor harness, or an internally shorted/failed pressure sensor.

Applies to these machines

  • New Holland T6
  • New Holland T7
  • New Holland T8
  • New Holland T9
  • New Holland TM series
  • New Holland MXM series

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the front suspension pressure sensor on the rod side (DA-R) of the suspension valve block or cylinder for moisture, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.

  2. Test the sensor wiring harness for an open ground circuit or a short to a power source, as these are the most common causes for an out of range high voltage reading.

  3. Back-probe the sensor connector with a multimeter to verify the signal voltage. If the voltage is pegged at or above the 5V reference limit while the harness is intact, the sensor itself has failed internally.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

  2. Relieve Pressure

Ensure the front suspension is fully lowered or mechanically supported, and relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the suspension accumulator/valve block system.

  3. Remove the Sensor

Disconnect the electrical harness from the rod side (DA-R) pressure sensor. Unthread the faulty sensor from the suspension valve block.

  4. Install the New Sensor

Thread the new front suspension pressure sensor into the port and tighten to the OEM torque specification.

  5. Reconnect

Plug the electrical connector back into the sensor, ensuring the locking tab clicks into place. Reconnect the battery.

  6. Clear and Calibrate

Turn the key on, clear the TRANS 150 fault code using the tractor's diagnostic menu or a service tool. You may need to perform a front suspension calibration routine to ensure the new sensor is baselined correctly.
