New Holland TRANS 151 – TRANS: Front suspension pressure sensor rod side open circuit

The controller is not receiving a valid voltage signal from the pressure sensor located on the rod side of the front axle suspension cylinder. An "open circuit" typically means there is a physical break in the electrical connection—such as a severed wire, an unplugged connector, a pushed-back pin, or a complete internal failure of the sensor itself.

   Locate the front suspension pressure sensor on the rod side of the suspension hydraulic valve block/cylinder. Inspect the wiring harness for obvious signs of damage, chafing, or rodent damage.

   Disconnect the sensor plug. Check for moisture, dirt, corrosion, or pushed-back pins inside the connector.

   Turn the key to the ON position. Using a multimeter, verify that the sensor is receiving its 5V reference supply and has a good ground at the connector.

   Measure the continuity of the signal wire from the sensor connector back to the TRANS controller harness. If there is infinite resistance, the wire is broken.

   If the wiring, ground, and reference voltage are all intact, the open circuit is internal to the sensor.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower any implements to the ground, and turn off the engine. Relieve hydraulic pressure from the front suspension system as per the operator's manual to prevent fluid spray.

   Harness Repair (If Applicable)

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire, use an OEM-approved wiring splice kit to repair the break, or replace the damaged connector pigtail.

   Sensor Replacement (If Applicable)

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the rod side pressure sensor. Place a catch pan underneath the valve block to catch residual hydraulic oil. Unscrew the faulty pressure sensor. Install the new sensor and tighten it to the OEM torque specification. Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Clear Codes & Calibrate

   Turn the battery power back on. Use the tractor's diagnostic display or a service tool to clear the TRANS 151 fault code.

   Suspension Calibration

   Run the automated front suspension calibration procedure to ensure the TRANS module learns the new sensor's baseline values.
