New Holland TRANS 152 – TRANS: Front Suspension pressure control not able to increase pressure on the rod side.
Issue description
The controller is commanding the hydraulic system to increase the hydraulic pressure on the rod side of the front suspension cylinder, but the system is failing to achieve the expected pressure increase. This is typically caused by a failure in the rod-side PWM solenoid valve, a faulty rod-side pressure sensor (DA-R), a wiring issue, or a stuck spool in the suspension control block.

Check the cause
Check for related rod-side sensor codes (e.g., TRANS 150, TRANS 151) or solenoid codes (e.g., 10003, 10019).
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors going to the front suspension control block, specifically targeting the rod-side PWM solenoid valve and the rod-side pressure sensor (B-052). Look for open circuits, shorts to ground, or 5V reference voltage drops.
Monitor live pressure values on the rod side using the Electronic Service Tool (EST) or the tractor's diagnostic HH Menu (using diagnostic test switch tool 380000488) to verify if the sensor reading changes when the suspension is manually commanded.
Inspect the front suspension cylinder for mechanical binding or severe internal hydraulic leaks. Ensure the regulated system pressure is adequate (above 290 PSI) and that the lockout valve is not mechanically stuck.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Park the tractor on a level surface, lower any attachments, turn off the engine, and ensure all hydraulic pressure is relieved from the front suspension accumulators and cylinders before opening the system.
Locate the Suspension Control Block
Locate the front suspension hydraulic control valve block (usually mounted near the front axle).
Test/Replace the Solenoid
If diagnostics point to the rod-side PWM solenoid valve not opening, remove and replace the solenoid coil or the entire cartridge valve.
Test/Replace the Pressure Sensor
If the UCM is receiving a flat or out-of-range signal, replace the rod-side pressure sensor.
Inspect the Valve Block Spools
If the electrical components test fine, the split valve or changeover valve spools inside the block may be stuck closed or stuck in the transition zone. Remove the spools, inspect for scoring or contamination, and clean or replace the control valve assembly if internally damaged.
Perform Auto Calibration Procedure (ACP)
After replacing any suspension components, you must recalibrate the system. Enter the tractor's calibration menu, ensure the engine is running at the correct RPM, and initiate the front suspension calibration so the controller can relearn the minimum and maximum travel limits and pressure thresholds.
