New Holland TRANS 155 – TRANS: Front Suspension Lock Valve Stuck in Off Position

TRANS 155 indicates that the Front Suspension Lock Valve (also referred to as the front suspension blocking valve) is stuck in the "Off" position. As a result of this condition, the front suspension will not unlock.

   Check for related electrical codes indicating circuit failures, such as 10015 (solenoid open circuit/short to ground), 10021 (solenoid over current), or 10016 (enable switch error)

   Verify system voltage and check for blown fuses (e.g., code 10022 indicating low 12VM voltage supply)

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the front suspension lock valve solenoid for corrosion, chafing, or loose pins

   Test the lock valve solenoid coil for proper resistance to rule out an internal short or open circuit

   Check for mechanical binding in the valve cartridge itself due to internal debris or component wear

   Prepare the tractor for service

   Park the tractor on a flat, level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine.

   Relieve hydraulic pressure

   Safely relieve all hydraulic pressure from the front suspension system before opening any hydraulic lines or valves.

   Locate the manifold block

   Locate the front suspension control manifold block.

   Disconnect the solenoid harness

   Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the Front Suspension Lock Valve solenoid.

   Remove the solenoid coil

   Remove the retaining nut and slide the solenoid coil off the valve cartridge.

   Remove the valve cartridge

   Carefully unscrew the lock valve cartridge from the manifold block.

   Inspect the valve cartridge

   Inspect the valve cartridge for damaged O-rings, metal shavings, or debris that could cause it to stick in the "Off" position.

   Replace the valve if necessary

   If the valve is mechanically stuck or damaged, replace it with a new OEM valve cartridge and solenoid.

   Install the new valve cartridge

   Install the new valve cartridge into the manifold and tighten to OEM torque specifications.

    Reinstall the solenoid coil

    Slide the solenoid coil back onto the cartridge, secure it, and reconnect the electrical harness.

    Verify the repair

    Start the tractor, clear the inactive TRANS 155 fault code, and cycle the front suspension enable switch to verify that the suspension now properly locks and unlocks.
