New Holland TRANS 156 – TRANS: Front suspension lock valve was installed but removed

The control module previously detected the presence of the front suspension lock valve solenoid on the machine's CAN/electrical system, but it is now registering an open circuit, missing connection, or the component has been physically removed without the system being reconfigured.

   Visually inspect the front suspension lock valve on the front axle suspension manifold to see if the solenoid is physically present, missing, or bypassed.

   Inspect the electrical connector at the lock valve solenoid for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or being unplugged.

   Trace the wiring harness from the lock valve back to the Transmission Control Module (TCU) and test for open circuits, chafing, or broken wires.

   Measure the resistance of the lock valve solenoid coil with a multimeter to verify it hasn't failed open (infinite resistance).

   Determine if the valve was intentionally removed or if the suspension system was modified, as the ECU may still be looking for it based on its last known configuration.

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower any implements, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine.

   Locate the front suspension lock valve assembly on the front axle suspension block.

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the lock valve solenoid.

   Clean the connector pins with contact cleaner.

   If the wiring harness has a break or open circuit, repair the damaged section of the wire and use heat-shrink tubing to seal the repair.

   If the wiring is intact but the solenoid tests open (fails the resistance test), replace the front suspension lock valve solenoid.

   If the valve was permanently removed by design: Connect the New Holland Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port. Navigate to the transmission/suspension configuration menu and update the machine's parameters to indicate the lock valve is 'Not Installed' so the module stops looking for it.

   Clear the fault codes using the EST or the tractor's onboard diagnostic display and test the front suspension operation.
