New Holland TRANS 2037 – TRANS: Bottom of Clutch pedal switch open circuit or bottom of clutch relay is stuck open.
Issue description
The transmission controller is not receiving the expected electrical signal when the clutch pedal is fully depressed. The system detects an open circuit, which is typically caused by a failed Bottom of Clutch (BOC) switch, a relay that is stuck in the open position, or a wiring harness break. Common Symptom: The tractor will suddenly stop driving forward or reverse and refuse to move.

Check the cause
Inspect the Bottom of Clutch (BOC) pedal switch for physical damage or mechanical misadjustment, ensuring the clutch pedal stop is not loose.
Test the clutch pedal switch continuity with a multimeter; it should show continuity when the pedal is fully depressed.
Test the bottom of clutch relay in the electrical panel to see if internal contacts are stuck open (temporarily swap with a known good relay of the same amperage).
Inspect the wiring harness between the clutch pedal switch, the relay, and the transmission controller for chafing, breaks, or loose ground connections.
Repair steps
Disconnect the Battery
Always disconnect the negative battery terminal before working on the tractor's electrical system.
Access the Switch/Relay
If the relay is faulty: Open the cab electrical panel, pull the faulty bottom of clutch relay, and plug in the replacement relay. If the switch is faulty: Remove the lower dash/steering column trim to access the clutch pedal assembly.
Replace the Switch
Unplug the 2-pin electrical connector from the Bottom of Clutch switch. Unbolt or unclip the old switch from its mounting bracket. Install the new switch and reconnect the harness.
Adjust the Switch
Ensure the switch is properly adjusted so that it fully closes only when the clutch pedal is at the absolute bottom of its travel (typically when the inching pedal position is less than 2% of its calibrated range).
Clear Codes and Calibrate
Reconnect the battery. Turn the key on and clear the stored TRANS 2037 code. Depending on the tractor model, you may need to perform a transmission/clutch pedal calibration routine via the tractor's display monitor so the TCU learns the new switch's exact engagement point.
