New Holland TRANS 2072 – Transmission Controller (TRANS): Reverse switch input from the FNRP Pod is shorted to +12 Volts or the FNRP pod 5 Volt Reference

The controller is receiving a continuous, improperly high voltage signal on the reverse circuit, making it think the reverse command is active or shorted to a power source.

   Cycle the FNRP shuttle lever back and forth through its positions to free up potentially stuck mechanical switches

   Try driving the tractor in the opposite direction to see if the controller registers the change and clears the active fault state

   Use a multimeter to check the wiring harness between the FNRP pod and the transmission controller for a short to a +12V power source or a short to the 5V reference wire on the reverse switch input circuit

   Attempt Mechanical Reset

   Cycle the FNRP shuttle lever repeatedly between Forward, Neutral, Reverse, and Park to dislodge any stuck internal contacts.

   Inspect Wiring

   Access the connector at the base of the FNRP pod. Inspect the harness for chafing, pinched wires, or melted insulation that could cause the reverse signal wire to short against the +12V supply or 5V reference lines.

   Test the Pod

   Disconnect the FNRP pod and check if the short to voltage disappears on the machine side of the harness. If the wiring harness is good but the short is present internally within the pod's circuitry, the pod itself has failed.

   Replace the FNRP Pod

   If the internal switches are permanently shorted, remove the retaining hardware for the FNRP module, disconnect the electrical connector, and install a new FNRP pod.

   Apply Decals (if necessary)

   If the new pod does not come with the directional decal, apply a new Forward/Neutral/Reverse/Park decal to the housing.
