New Holland TRANS 2343 – Transmission Control Module (TRANS / TCU): Clutch Even solenoid (C33) open circuit or shorted to ground
Issue description
The transmission controller has detected a break in the electrical connection, a disconnected plug, a failed internal solenoid coil, or a wire that is shorting directly to the chassis ground. This condition prevents the transmission from properly actuating the even-numbered gears.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness running from the transmission controller to the Even Clutch Solenoid on the transmission valve block for chafing, breaks, or pinched wires.
Disconnect the Even Clutch Solenoid connector and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or damage.
Using a multimeter, measure the resistance across the pins of the Even Clutch Solenoid to check for an internal open circuit (infinite resistance) or an internal short.
Test the wiring harness between the solenoid connector and the transmission controller for continuity, and check the power wire for a short to ground.

Locate the transmission control valve block on the side of the transmission housing. Identify the Even Clutch Solenoid (refer to the service manual diagram for the exact port location among the clutch solenoids).

Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the Even Clutch Solenoid.

Thoroughly clean the area around the solenoid to prevent dirt and debris from entering the transmission valve body.

Remove the retaining hardware or hex socket plug holding the solenoid in place.

Carefully extract the faulty Even Clutch Solenoid from the valve block.

Lubricate the O-rings on the new replacement solenoid with clean transmission fluid.

Install the new solenoid into the valve block and secure it with the retaining hardware/plug.

Reconnect the electrical harness connector.

Turn the key on, clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool, and perform a transmission clutch calibration procedure to ensure the new solenoid engages smoothly.
