New Holland TRANS 2350 – TRANS: Clutch reverse solenoid open circuit or short to ground

The transmission controller has detected an electrical fault—either a broken connection (open circuit) or a wire touching the chassis/ground (short to ground) in the circuit that controls the reverse clutch solenoid.

   Ensure the tractor is securely parked and cannot move while performing tests.

   Check if the reverse clutch solenoid is actually receiving power and energizing when the tractor is shifted into reverse.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the transmission controller (TCU) and the reverse clutch solenoid for chafing, pinched wires, or disconnected plugs.

   Test the solenoid itself to see if the internal coil has failed open or shorted out.

   Locate the Solenoid

   Locate the multi-function transmission solenoid valve block on the transmission housing.

   Repair Wiring or Replace Solenoid

   If the wiring harness is damaged, repair the broken or shorted wires. If the wiring is intact but the solenoid coil fails testing, remove and replace the reverse clutch solenoid valve.

   Recalibrate Clutches

   After replacing transmission solenoids or controllers, the transmission clutches will likely need to be recalibrated. (Note: If the clutches are not calibrated after repair, the system may throw secondary codes such as TRANS 133 "Reverse Clutch Is Not Calibrated").
