TRANS 2365

New Holland TRANS 2365 – Transmission Control Unit (TCU) / ATC: C1-2 Clutch not calibrated

Issue description

The transmission controller does not have a valid calibration value saved for the C1-2 clutch pack. This typically happens if a calibration procedure was aborted, a new transmission controller was installed, the tractor's battery/memory was cleared, or if a mechanical/electrical failure prevented the clutch from calibrating successfully during a previous attempt.

Applies to these machines

  • New Holland T8.xxx Series (e.g., T8.330, T8.380, T8.390, T8.410)

Check the cause

  1. Check for active solenoid faults (e.g., TRANS 105, TRANS 116, TRANS 2344, or TRANS 2355) indicating an open circuit or short in the C1-2 clutch solenoid. Repair these electrical issues before attempting calibration.

  2. Ensure the transmission fluid is warmed up to the stipulated operating temperature, as cold oil will cause calibration to fail.

  3. Verify safety setup: park on level ground away from obstacles, apply the parking brake, chock the wheels, and ensure the ground speed display reads zero.

Repair steps

  1. Apply the hand brake / parking brake.

  2. Start the engine and warm the transmission oil to operating temperature.

Temperature can be verified on the display or DOG - Display of Gears.

  3. Enter calibration mode.

On many models, this is done by holding both the UPSHIFT and DOWNSHIFT buttons while starting the engine, or by navigating to the Transmission Calibration screen in the IntelliView monitor.

  4. Set the engine throttle to the specified calibration RPM.

    Typically 1200 RPM ± 50 RPM.

  5. Shift the shuttle lever into the FORWARD position and release the clutch pedal.

The tractor will not drive while in calibration mode.

  6. Toggle through the available clutches using the upshift switch until you reach the C1-2 clutch.

Often designated by a specific letter on the display, such as 'A' or 'B'.

  7. Press and hold the DOWNSHIFT button.

The display will show a zero that will start counting up as the controller modulates the solenoid to find the clutch engagement point.

  8. Continue holding the button until the clutch letter and the final calibration value flash alternately on the screen.

    This indicates a successful calibration.

  9. Once all necessary clutches are calibrated, the display will show 'CF' (Calibration Finished). Turn the key off to save the values.
