TRANS 2367

New Holland TRANS 2367 – TRANS: C5-6 Clutch not calibrated

Issue description

This code indicates that the transmission controller does not have a valid calibration value stored for the C5-6 clutch pack. This typically happens if the transmission controller has been replaced, if the software was recently flashed/updated, or if a previous calibration attempt failed or was aborted before completion.

Check the cause

  1. Check for Active Solenoid Faults: Ensure there are no active electrical fault codes for the C5-6 clutch solenoid (e.g., TRANS 107 or TRANS 2356). If present, fix wiring or solenoid before calibration.

  2. Check Oil Temperature: Ensure transmission oil is at normal operating temperature (60°C - 80°C / 140°F - 176°F) to avoid 'CL' or 'U19' errors.

  3. Check Safety Switches: Ensure the bottom-of-clutch pedal switch and seat switch are functioning properly to avoid a 'U17' error.

Repair steps

  1. Prepare the Tractor

Park on level ground away from obstacles. Apply the handbrake/parking brake and chock the wheels. Ensure the shuttle lever is in Neutral.

  2. Enter Calibration Mode

With the tractor off, press and hold both the Upshift (Hare) and Downshift (Turtle) buttons simultaneously while starting the engine.

  3. Verify Temperature

Upon entering calibration mode, the digital display will show the transmission oil temperature. Ensure it is sufficiently warm.

  4. Set Engine Speed

Increase the engine throttle to a steady 1200 ± 50 RPM.

  5. Engage Drive

Move the shuttle lever into the FORWARD position.

  6. Select the Clutch

Press the Upshift button to cycle through the clutches until you reach the C5-6 clutch (often designated by a specific letter in the sequence, such as 'E' or 'F', or simply C5/C6 on newer displays).

  7. Calibrate

Press and hold the Downshift (Turtle) button. The engine RPM will drop slightly (by about 50 RPM) as the transmission controller modulates the PWM valve to find the clutch 'kiss point' (engagement point).

  8. Wait for Completion

Keep the button depressed until the calibration number on the screen alternates with the clutch identifying letter, or the screen displays 'End' / 'Syn'.

  9. Save and Exit

Release the button. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position to save the new calibration values to the Transmission Control Module. Restart the tractor to verify the TRANS 2367 code has cleared.
