New Holland TRANS 2368 – Transmission Control Unit (TCU): Low Range Clutch is not calibrated

The transmission controller loses the stored engagement parameters (kiss point/fill time) for the clutch, which can happen after a battery disconnect, a software update, a controller replacement, or normal wear that pushes the clutch out of its previously learned tolerance.

   Check transmission oil temperature (must be warmed up to 60°C - 80°C / 140°F - 176°F)

   Check for active solenoid electrical faults (e.g., open circuits, short to ground, or over-voltage)

   Verify engine RPM stability (must be able to hold a steady 1200 ± 50 RPM)

   Ensure safety switches are functioning properly, specifically the handbrake and seat switch

   Warm Up

   Drive the tractor until the transmission oil temperature reaches at least 60°C.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on level ground, apply the handbrake, and leave the shuttle lever in Neutral.

   Enter Calibration Mode

   Turn the tractor off. Press and hold both the Upshift and Downshift buttons simultaneously, then start the engine. The display should now show the transmission oil temperature.

   Set RPM

   Increase the hand throttle to set the engine speed to exactly 1200 RPM (± 50 RPM).

   Engage Drive

   Move the shuttle lever into the Forward position.

   Select the Clutch

   Press the upshift button to select the first clutch (Clutch A / Low Range).

   Calibrate

   Press and hold the downshift button. You will hear the engine RPM drop by about 50 RPM as the controller engages the clutch to find the bite point. Keep holding the button until the display shows 'End' or the calibration number alternates with the clutch letter.

   Proceed to Next Clutches

   Release the downshift button. Press the upshift button to move to Clutch B, and repeat the holding process. Continue this for all remaining clutches (C, D, E, etc.).

   Save and Exit

   Once all clutches are calibrated, turn the ignition key to the OFF position. This saves the new calibration values to the controller's non-volatile memory. Restart the tractor to clear the 2368 fault code.
