New Holland TRANS 2370 – TRANS: High Clutch not calibrated
Issue description
The transmission controller has lost the calibration values for the high range clutch fill time/pressure, or a calibration procedure was interrupted or failed. Without these precise values, the tractor may shift harshly, fail to engage the high range, or default to a neutral/limp mode to protect the transmission clutches.

Check the cause
Transmission Oil Temperature: Ensure the transmission fluid is warmed up to the stipulated operating temperature, as the controller will block calibration if the oil is too cold.
Check for Related Electrical Faults: Look for active solenoid fault codes (e.g., codes indicating a High Clutch Solenoid open circuit or short to +12V/ground) which will cause calibration failure.
Wiring and Grounds: Inspect the wiring harness, chassis grounds, and the electrical connector at the High Clutch solenoid for dirt, corrosion, or rodent damage.
Safety Setup: Ensure the tractor is parked on a level surface away from obstacles, the parking brake is firmly applied, and the wheels are chocked, as the tractor can lurch during clutch calibration.
Repair steps
Preparation
Apply the hand brake. Ensure the ground speed display reads zero.
Enter Calibration Mode
On older/button-based models: Hold both the UPSHIFT and DOWNSHIFT buttons while starting the engine. The Display of Gears (DOG) will show the transmission oil temperature. On newer T8/IntelliView models: Navigate to the 'HH menu' or the Transmission Calibration screen on the monitor and select the High Clutch (often denoted as 'H').
Set Engine RPM
Increase the hand throttle to the specified calibration speed (typically 1200 RPM ± 50 RPM).
Engage Transmission
Shift the shuttle lever into the FORWARD position and release the clutch pedal (the tractor will not drive because it is in calibration mode).
Calibrate the High Clutch
Toggle through the clutches using the upshift switch until the High Clutch is selected. Press and hold the downshift/calibrate button. The display will count up as the TCU automatically adjusts the quick-fill time and pressure.
Save Values
Continue holding the button until the calibration value and the clutch letter flash alternately on the display, indicating a successful calibration.
Finalize
Once successful (the display may show 'CF' for Calibration Finished), shift back to neutral, throttle down, and cycle the key to save the non-volatile memory. Test drive to verify smooth shifting.
