Fault code TRANS 2371 indicates that the Reverse Clutch within the transmission has not been successfully calibrated. The transmission controller requires precise calibration data to smoothly engage the reverse directional clutch via its Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) solenoid valve. When this code is active, the controller lacks the necessary parameters to operate the reverse clutch properly, which can result in harsh shifting, failure to engage reverse, or the transmission disabling itself.

   Verify transmission oil temperature is above 10°C (50°F) to prevent U19 errors and halted calibration

   Disconnect the wiring harness, remove the retaining bolts, and extract the faulty PWM valve. Install the new PWM valve (ensure any O-rings or gauze filters are properly seated) and torque the bolts to spec.
