New Holland TRANS 2372 – TRANS: Creep Clutch is not calibrated

The transmission control unit has lost the calibration values for the creep clutch pack, or the calibration procedure was aborted/failed. The tractor's computer does not know the exact fill time and engagement point of the creep clutch, which can result in jerky shifting, hesitation, or a complete refusal to engage the creep gears.

   Check transmission fluid temperature (must be at normal operating temperature, approx. 176°F / 80°C). Look for 'CL' (Cold Oil) or 'CH' (Hot Oil) warnings on the dash.

   Check battery voltage to ensure it is sufficient for clutch solenoid operation.

   Check for active open/short circuit codes for clutch solenoids (e.g., TRANS 103 through 108) or the Master Clutch Potentiometer (TRANS 11 or 12).

   Ensure physical prerequisites are met: tractor parked on level ground, parking brake firmly applied, and air conditioning turned off to prevent engine RPM fluctuations.

   Warm Up

   Drive the tractor until the transmission fluid is at operating temperature.

   Setup

   Apply the handbrake, depress the clutch pedal fully, and place the power shuttle lever in Neutral.

   Enter Calibration Mode

   Turn the ignition off. Start the engine while simultaneously holding down the Upshift and Downshift buttons on the gear selector.

   Engine Speed

   Set the engine RPM to approximately 1200 RPM (or 1250 RPM depending on the specific model).

   Engage Shuttle

   Move the shuttle lever to Forward (or Reverse, depending on the specific model's manual) and release the clutch pedal. The tractor is now in calibration mode.

   Calibrate Clutches

   Select the clutch packs (including the creep clutch) using the upshift button. To calibrate a specific pack, press and hold the Downshift button. You will feel the tractor slightly load up and the clutch engage as the TCU learns the fill time.

   Complete Sequence

   Keep the button pressed until the sequence for that clutch finishes and the display indicates success. Repeat for the remaining clutch packs.

   Save and Exit

   Once all packs are calibrated, turn the tractor key to the OFF position to save the new calibration values to the EEPROM. Restart the tractor to verify the TRANS 2372 code has cleared.
