New Holland TRANS 2373 – Transmission Control Module (TCU): Master Clutch not calibrated
Issue description
The transmission controller does not have a valid, stored calibration value (kiss point/fill time) for the master clutch. This condition typically occurs if a new transmission controller has been installed, the software was recently updated, the non-volatile memory was cleared, or a previous calibration procedure was aborted before completion.

Check the cause
Ensure transmission oil temperature is at operating temperature (60°C - 80°C / 140°F - 176°F). If too cold, calibration will be rejected.
Check for active hardware codes for the master clutch solenoid (e.g., open circuit or short to ground), wheel speed sensors, or clutch pedal bottom switches.
Ensure the tractor is parked on level ground away from obstacles, the parking brake is firmly applied, and the wheels are chocked.
Repair steps
Warm Up
Start the tractor and drive it or run the hydraulics until the transmission oil temperature reaches at least 60°C.
Prepare for Calibration
Turn the tractor off. Apply the handbrake, ensure the shuttle lever is in neutral, and release the clutch pedal.
Enter Calibration Mode
Standard/Older Displays: Press and hold both the upshift (hare) and downshift (tortoise) buttons simultaneously while starting the engine. IntelliView 12 Displays (Newer T8s): Navigate through the monitor: Settings Menu -> Systems Card -> Diagnostics -> Calibration Wizard.
Set Engine Speed
Increase the hand throttle to set the engine RPM to the specified calibration speed (usually 1200 RPM ± 50).
Engage Drive
Move the shuttle lever into the Forward position.
Select the Clutch
Use the upshift button to cycle through the clutches until the Master Clutch (or Clutch 19 / Clutch A, depending on the specific transmission menu) is displayed.
Calibrate
Press and hold the downshift (tortoise) button. You will hear the engine RPM drop slightly as the controller engages the clutch to learn the fill time and kiss point.
Wait for Completion
Keep the button depressed until the screen displays 'End' or the calibration number alternates with the clutch identifying letter.
Save and Exit
Release the button. Once the master clutch (and any other required clutches) are calibrated, turn the ignition key to the OFF position. Note: The key must be cycled off to store the new calibration figures in the controller's non-volatile memory.
Parts you might need
(3)Transmission Master Clutch Solenoid / Proportional Valve
Required if the solenoid is burnt out, shorted, or mechanically sticking
Transmission Oil Temperature Sensor
Required if the sensor is faulty and preventing the TCU from verifying the oil is warm enough to calibrate
Master Clutch Friction Discs / Plates
Required if the clutch packs are worn beyond the controller's maximum calibration adjustment limit
